I've found that journalling is helpful for me also. During my healing journey, I switched from writing poetry to journalling and it has made a big difference.
When I used to write poetry, it only seemed to come out when I was at my worst, and revisiting those poems can bring back chilling flashbacks. With journalling, I feel like I can escape from all of the past trauma.
